These hinges are British made and are of the highest quality Stainless Steel. Also included in the price are specially designed NON SLIP fittings which retail for £2.55p when purchased separately. IF YOUR EXISTING HINGES ARE LOOSE THEN BELOW IS THE MOST COMMON REASON WHY. Toilet seat hinges become loose because the holes in the toilet bowl are bigger than the metal rods that fit through them which means that the rods, and hence the hinges and seat, have room to move about. The standard fittings do nothing to stop this movement. The NON SLIP rubber fittings, supplied with these hinges, are squeezed into the gaps between the rods and toilet bowl by tightening the bottom nut. This eliminates any possible movement of the hinge, AND HENCE THE SEAT, and also holds the hinge tightly down onto the toilet bowl. The rubber fittings are a very tight fit and you may find that you have to almost screw them on. The dimensions of the hinge are as follows:- The threaded part is 70mm long and 8mm diameter, the rest of the body, the smooth part, is 9.5mm diameter. Total height of the hinge is 97mm and width is 65mm. The critical measurements are the hole in the toilet seat which has to accommodate the 9.5mm diameter and the distance between the two holes in the toilet pan, these need to be at least 122mm centre to centre to accommodate the width of the hinge. The nut on the bottom is M8 and requires a 13mm spanner. Fitting instructions are sent with each purchase and I also provide a PLUMBERS TIP to help you get the seat positioned correctly. The hinges are packaged to fit through any letterbox, so no waiting in for the postie.
