Can I use the removable thumbsticks from the original elite controller with the new one?

No.... I own several of both the original and 2nd Gen controllers. Gen 1 thumbsticks absolutely WILL NOT work on a Gen 2 controller. As the other guy said, the d-pad and paddles interchange between Gen 1 and Gen 2 but the thumbsticks do not.

Those who have the core 2 and its prob. 2 a early to tell. Is this made better than the original series 2? It won't break as easily?

My A button got "squishy" after 1 week. Ok, but after 6 months, the left stick broke. It literally stopped springing to the center axis.

Can someone confirm the difference between the "elite 2" and "elite 2 core" controllers? one is black and the other is white, is one better?

Elite 2 comes with all of the extra buttons found underneath the controller, along with extra thumb sticks. Elite 2 Core does not. If you purchase separately it is $50 dollars more
