Speck Products BalanceFolio Case and Stand for iPad 9.7-Inch , 9.7-Inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 2/Air, Black/Slate Grey, 90914-B565

I was a bit nervous to purchase this case after reading through the reviews but I actually totally love it. I searched high and low, scouring the internet for the best ipad 2017 case. A few sites recommended this case and I really liked the slim look, the fact that it covered the front and the back, the simple but functional stand, and the slim profile so I decided to give it a shot. After receiving it, I liked it even more than I expected. I purchased the purple case and love the color. The quality seems great, better than other cases that I spent much more on and returned, and the details like the two-toned scheme looks great in person. It isn't super noticeable from the product description and photos but the case has little grooves to help it stand up which you can adjust to different angles. As for the latch that has been at the heart of most people's dislike the for case, I agree that there could have been a better design for it but it isn't a critical feature (without the latch, the cover would sit flat just fine) so I am not terribly worried about it. I haven't owned it long enough to speak to whether or not the latch will break, but either way i'm not stressed about and I don't think it would ruin my opinion of how much I like it. Overall, totally love this case and am so happy I returned the few I purchased before it and opted for this one instead.

I purchased the Speck Products BalanceFolio Case and Stand for (2017) iPad 9.7-Inch about a year and a half ago. I bought it for my wife's iPad. She spends a lot of time on the iPad and really puts a case through it's paces. Sooner or later a case will get that worn look. That is the point of my review. When asked what type of case she wanted to replace her old one she said ' I want another one just like the one I have, just a different color. This is one good case!!!! Buy it, use it worry free. With normal use it will last for years.

I usually like speck. I’ve ordered their cases for the last 5 years or so for my iPhone. And I had a great iPad case several years ago that was made by them. Unfortunately I regret buying this one. It simply doesn’t quite fit the new 2017 iPad. One corner pops out a bit because it’s too small. I think they tried to cover too many models with this case and it just doesn’t work. The corner that pops out leaves it vulnerable. If I were to drop it on that corner I don’t think it would survive unscathed. Since the whole purpose of a case is to protect the iPad, it’s a pretty big failure. I’ll have to order another brand.

This is the second speck case that I received for my I-pad. The design is great and the case fits well. However after a few short weeks the first one I purchased cracked and broke on the corner near the power button. I sent it back and received a new one without issue. Once I received my new one I put my I-pad in the case and never removed it. Within a few weeks the same corner cracked again followed by two more corners chipping off. I have never dropped my iPad or even attempted to remove it from the case. This product is poorly made and is incapable of holding up to even basic use. I am now attempting to send this back for a refund but they are not allowing me to because I've had it for just over a month. Do not buy this product if you want something that will last for more than a month.

This case appears to be well designed and claims to be durable.UnfortunatelyMy first Speck Folio in red cracked after a few days around the corners of the case.It was purchased through Speck Australia.I had taken care of this case it had not been dropped or knocked!The only way that they would replace ,it was for me to purchase another one,and when I had received the new one send the damaged one back.I persisted with the old case until of plastic chunks fell off.I like to keep my ipad in a cover so that it is protected at all times.I ordered a new case in purple from the USA delivered to the UK.This one has a slight scratch on the cover on unpacking ,but worse still the plastic has already cracked on the edges, even before use and pieces are falling off.I have now read many reviews also claiming the same faults.It Looks like a good design why ruin it with cheap plastic?Surely Speck have had time to correct this fault.How can they not be aware of it?Sorry I do not want any more I have bought a different brand with a much sturdier case base.I Am regretfully returning the second case such a shame and a waste of money.Speck has a good design but has ruined the product with cheap unsuitable material fir the base.

I have been a huge fan of Speck products for several years now but disappointed that this item has failed me. The plastic has already cracked as soon as I placed my brand new iPad into it. I get the fact that the case needs a snug fitIn order to work but why doesn’t this happen entity their phone cases?

Thank you Speck. I have had the Fit Folio for other Ipads and used them until they wore out. I just put this case on the Ipad Air 2 and then left my Ipad on my car and drove off. It flew off and the case was pretty beat up. Three corners were scratched up and partially torn off and the cover flap is torn up on two sides -- but my Ipad was ok other than scuff marks on one of the corners! I did have a tempered glass screen protector on it too and I do believe that helped the screen since it landed screen side down on the street.

I really like the product and it is generally good but their customer service sucks. I had two of there cases for about a year and both developed cracks in the plastic parts of it and the second one I tried to go and get replaced through the warranty and get ignored. I did everything speck said to do in the warranty section and waited over a month with no response and even wrote a follow up email and still no reply. If this is going to be the way they treat there customers then I want nothing to do with them ever agin. So if you are looking for a goo case for you devices then go look some place else because if you might have a issue they will just push you aside and hope you go away.

Supposedly this a ‘premium product’, it does protect the screen well but the casing is made of brittle plastic. Had this for three months and all four corners have snapped off, no falls or bumps!. In fact it’s placed inside a padded sleeve when I’m not using it so lord knows how all four corners have snapped off .... and of course the return window has elapsed.Two stars for the screen protection ... nil stars for the rear protection

I own the iPad wi-fi 9.7” and bought this case. When I tried the case for the first time I noticed that it was very tight and a few hours later it began to crack in one of the corners. I got a replacement from amazon and the exact same thing happened.

This is a very flimsy case, with the plastic casing succumbing to even the slightest knock. Within 2 weeks of using it there were a number of bits of plastic that had broken off. This is a premium iPad case and in my opinion is not worth paying extra for.

I've had the case for less than a month and already there is a crack! This happened while it was in my bag, not even during a drop. I also found it took a lot of effort to securely get all four corners snapped into the case. It works very well for viewing and typing at different angles and I like the bright colour.

Nicely designed cover, but the hard plastic case that holds the iPad has cracked around the rear camera; never dropped or mishandled. Emailed Speck about the problem but no reply, hence the 1 star rating. Highly disappointing from a company I used to believe was synonymous with quality.
